A full-time frontline emergency worker, John had to find something to do on his days off during COVID lockdowns. Having been enjoying videos of woodturning online he invested in a small lathe and a beginner set of turning chisels and set about teaching himself the basics of woodturning. Three years later, John has upgraded to a professional woodworking studio at the Graham family home in Bendigo, where he produces bowls, pens and furniture. John prides himself on supporting other small businesses and wherever possible uses Australian made products in his pieces. With timber being a finite resource John strives to minimize waste and preservice this amazing material in heirloom pieces.

When he’s not serving the community or playing in the shed, John enjoys martial arts, motorsport and spending time with his wife Emily, and their greyhounds.
